Mitre Celebrate Ronnie Radford’s Famous FA Cup Strike with Limited Edition Permawhite Max

2022-02-11

Rewind back to 1972, with a goal that has been declared as one of the greatest goals in FA Cup history, Ronald Radford’s famous 35-yard piledriver for non-league side Hereford United saw them knock out footballing giants Newcastle United. To celebrate that moment and 150 years of The Emirates FA Cup, Mitre is bringing back its legendary Mitre Permawhite Max in a limited number of 150.

A momentous occasion for Hereford fans and one still celebrated half a century on, the 28-year-old joiner from Yorkshire joined the immortals when he hit the pearler that is still shown across our screens today during the build up to the FA Cup. A cup upset that saw Hereford fans run onto the pitch to celebrate, in front of over 30,000 Newcastle fans. Something we all love to see.

League side Boreham Wood pulling off the unthinkable on the South coast last weekend in the fourth round of competition, and Championship side Nottingham Forest knocking out Premier League giants and holders Leicester City, the magic of the cup is very much alive and kicking 50 years on. And football enthusiasts can now mark the occasion with this true collector’s piece.

It’s not just a ball. It’s history reborn. The FA-endorsed Mitre Permawhite Max ball is individually numbered and delivered in its own presentation box - containing a certificate of authenticity. Available in size 5 and dropping on www.mitre.com.
