Love Always Wins: a Short Film Featuring Chelsea’s Magdalena Eriksson and Pernille Harder 8 MAR

2022-03-08

To mark International Women’s Day, a short film about two of the biggest names in the women’s game: Magdalena Eriksson and Pernille Harder has been released. ‘Love Always Wins’ celebrates the extraordinary achievements of the couple, both on and off pitch.

Both Chelsea teammates and real-life partners, the duo are two of the most respected footballers in the current game. As well as gaining well-earned respect on the pitch, they are also advocates for and role models within the LGBTQ+ community.

Through a series of stylised edits, the film shows a snapshot of the everyday lives of the couple. The narration that follows the relatable elements of the film highlights moments of pride in achievements both on and off the pitch. "For both of us, difference is something we celebrate and value. We both feel so strongly that we should cherish diversity and we should strive for inclusion. We keep pushing forward because we want a world without discrimination and stereotypes, a world that really is better for everyone." said Pernille Harder.

The release is a continuation of the partnership between Fresh Base and Ten Toes, which last year saw the two agencies come together to create a series of mini-documentaries for EA Sports. The previous documentaries brought together the next generation of talent such as Phil Foden, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Jude Bellingham - as well as an authentic and comedic series for Mitre, putting a spotlight on Sunday league football.

'Love Always Wins' is a Ten Toes film, written and directed by Dean George and produced by Fresh Base Productions.
