Lyle & Scott have a long history of supporting football. For the 1874-founded luxury brand, they hope this partnership can be pivotal for their brand’s relationship with the sport, and of course Lewes FC.
Lyle & Scott’s opted for Lewes FC as the club has set about rewriting the football rulebook with its community-first focus and inclusive attitude.
For the first time in the club’s 138-year history, the Lewes FC Women’s team faced a momentous FA Cup Quarter Final showdown on 19th March against goliath rival Manchester United. Undeterred by its 3-1 defeat by the PL powerhouse, Lewes FC remains proud of its commitment to pay its men’s and women’s teams equally while providing the same facilities to all genders.
Ben Gunn, Brand and Marketing Director at Lyle & Scott, mentioned: “We are delighted with the levels of performance shown by both Lewes FC first XIs and continue to proudly support the club on and off the pitch.”
From last month, Lewes FC’s fast-expanding fanbase had the chance to buy the club’s instantly recognisable red/black striped home jersey as well as its white away shirt emblazoned with a black/gold cross-body sash. Both shirts feature Lewes FC’s iconic castle and rooks crest alongside the Lyle & Scott logo and are priced at 50 quid.
On the club’s partnership with Lyle & Scott, Lewes FC Men’s Team Manager Tony Russell commented: “When I'm trying to sign new players, I tell them about the Lyle & Scott partnership as it’s a real pull for players. The clothes it provides the players make them the best dressed in the league come match day.”
