Bohemian Football Club links up with TheRecordHub for a partnership that will bring unique sounds to the terraces.
Bohemian FC have welcomed many music connections to their ground – Dalymount Park – over the years. Some of the most famous gigs in Irish history took place there including Thin Lizzy in 1977 and Bob Marley in 1980.
The music scene amongst the ground is still thriving and the club bar hosts punk gigs regularly to this day. Bohs have club members in many bands, past and present, including Paul Page of Whipping Boy, whose lyrics featured on Bohs’ home shirt in 2022, Brush Shiels and Johnny Logan. In recent years, Bohs have partnered with both the Marley family and Fontaines DC on their away shirts, while also raising money for Focus Ireland to tackle homelessness and MASI to support those in Direct Provision.
The partnership will see them team up with TheRecordHub – an online record store – to bring a first in modern football, with DJ Richie O’Connell playing all vinyl sets over the stadium PA on match days.
There will also be a release of collaborative projects, remembering the legendary gig history that Dalymount Park has hosted over the years.
Dan Lambert, Bohemian FC COO, added: “To have vinyl playing over the Bose PA system in Dalymount at games is brilliant, and to be able to work with a local Irish company to do so is really important to our club values. Football and music are two of people’s great loves and both have the ability to reach and impact people in a profound way. To bring them both together here is really exciting and we will have many more announcements together over the three years.”
