Barcelona fans will be able to experience the musical motivation behind both the men's and women's teams, with the introduction of the matchday playlists. These playlists will showcase the music that inspires and energises the players to perform at their best on game day.
In February, the playlists will be debuted by two star players, Pedri and Alexia Putellas, who have curated their own collections of songs that get them pumped up and ready to play. These playlists, titled "Barça Matchday by Pedri" and "Barça Femení Matchday by Alexia", will be exclusively available on the official FC Barcelona Spotify page.
Pedri expressed his excitement about the opportunity to share his favourite tracks with the fans, saying: "Music is an integral part of a football player's life, from training to the changing room. I'm thrilled to take over the Matchday playlist and I hope fans will enjoy my selections."
Similarly, Alexia Putellas, the women's team captain, shared her pride in being the first Barça Femení player to curate the Matchday playlist. She said: "Music is very important to us in the team and I am honoured to share our passion for music with the fans. I hope they will feel the energy and excitement that we experience as we get ready for a match."
The partnership between FC Barcelona and Spotify is a unique and innovative approach to bringing fans closer to their favourite teams.
